Unity Band
Unity Band is an international youth jazz ensemble formed by colleagues from Berklee College of Music. The core members include Yerin Kim (bass), Ryota Sasaki (saxophone), Devin Thai (piano), and Yota Tsukada (drums), along with many guest musicians who collaborate with the group.
The band has successfully completed two international tours. The first tour took place in 2024, performing across Hong Kong, Korea, and Japan. The second tour followed in 2025, with performances in Korea and Japan. The group is currently planning its next international tour for 2026.
Unity Band focuses on the development of jazz and the creation of a new community that connects jazz and modern musicians across Asian countries. In addition to performances, the ensemble places strong emphasis on education, organizing activities such as summer camps, workshops, and outreach programs to support young musicians and promote jazz culture.
In summer 2026, the band has been awarded a grant to host a week-long summer camp in Korea for local middle and high school students, providing them with opportunities to learn jazz performance, improvisation, and ensemble collaboration.
The project is supported by Team Bridge Inc..
